What we do
CIPA’s mission is to provide an international platform for exchange between national committees, to disseminate information on plastics research and to encourage scientific and technical solutions based on geographical needs and specificities. We encourage the testing of plastics in agriculture, the establishment of international standards and regulations and the analysis of the challenges associated with agricultural plastics, both environmental and technical.
Agricultural
Plastic Products
Agricultural plastics play a vital role in modern farming, improving crop yields, protecting plants, and reducing the need for water and pesticides. CIPA supports the use of high-quality agricultural plastics tailored to diverse farming needs, including :

Plant cultivation film
They are used to protect crops from bad weather, promote growth through optimal microclimatic conditions, and improve the efficiency of farming practices, particularly in applications such as greenhouses, mulching or forcing tunnels.

Livestock film
These plastics are used to preserve animal feed, such as wraps and silage, and to protect fodder reserves.

Twines & Nets
They play an essential role in packaging, securing and preserving crops, particularly for products such as hay, straw, silage and other baled crops.

Hail netting
Hail nets are strong nets designed to protect crops from hail damage, while still allowing light to pass through.

Irrigation tubing
These flexible tubes are used to transport water in various irrigation systems, such as drip irrigation or sprinkler irrigation, ensuring precise and efficient water distribution while minimizing waste.
“Our approach ensures that these products are not only effective in improving agricultural productivity but also meet high standards of environmental responsibility.”
Our Solutions

Eco-conception
Innovative techniques that reduce the volume of plastics used, making recycling easier and more efficient.

Plastics Recycling
Effective solutions rely on national collection systems to recycle agricultural plastics and support Plasticulture decarbonisation.

Biodegradable Solutions
Promoting biodegradability for agricultural plastic waste when material or energy recovery solutions are unfeasible.
These innovations enable farmers to continue using plasticulture techniques while maintaining a commitment to environmental stewardship, ensuring agricultural practices that support soil health and long-term sustainability.
Our Vision for the Future
CIPA envisions a future where agriculture and sustainable development go hand in hand in line with the necessary goal of carbon neutrality. By advocating the responsible use of plastics, innovations such as biodegradability and robust recycling programs, we aim to build an agricultural sector that respects the planet while meeting the food demands of a growing population.
Our mission drives us to coordinate the actions of Plasticulters, support innovative practices and encourage a global commitment to sustainable agriculture.
