Mission and objectives :

The mission of the Biodegradable Plastics Committee is to promote biodegradability as a new functionality in the management of agricultural plastic waste, particularly where material or energy recovery solutions are not environmentally, economically or technically feasible.

  • Support innovation and new applications for biodegradable plastics, taking into account service life conditions, crops, climate, the environment and social aspects.
  • Contribute expertise to relevant standardization committees.
  • Promote the technical and environmental benefits of biodegradable plastics.
    Contribute to the development of communication tools for official international standards.
  • Support national biodegradable plastics committees.
