Continuing the SOPAM project: results of a study on the disintegration of biodegradable mulch

AUTHOR : François TOUCHALEAUME, Agro-Industrial Chemistry Laboratory, UMR 1010 INRAE / Toulouse INP, France
Following the agronomic trials conducted as part of the SOPAM project, a degradation study was carried out to assess the degradation kinetics of mulch films under real life conditions. Here are the conclusions.
Disintegration (progressive reduction in the size of film fragments) is the first stage of biodegradation, and the two-year study conducted at the Sudexpé station (Hérault department, Southern France, Mediterranean climate) complements the guarantees provided by standard EN 17033. The criteria of this standard (which does not include disintegration) are assessed under standardised laboratory conditions that do not accurately represent field conditions.
There are many variations of passages of Lorem Ipsum available, but the majority have suffered alteration in some form, by injected humour, or randomised words which don't look even slightly believable. If you are going to use a passage of Lorem Ipsum, you need to be sure there isn't anything embarrassing hidden in the middle of text. All the Lorem Ipsum generators on the Internet tend to repeat predefined chunks as necessary, making this the first true generator on the Internet. It uses a dictionary of over 200 Latin words, combined with a handful of model sentence structures, to generate Lorem Ipsum which looks reasonable. The generated Lorem Ipsum is therefore always free from repetition, injected humour, or non-characteristic words etc.
