What about agricultural packaging? The recycling of fertiliser packaging is an inspiring example: the industry has set up a management system and launched an innovative recycling project. All the Big-Bags used by French farmers will eventually be recycled in France. SOVEEA and NOVUS explain how this fruitful collaboration came about.

As early as 2006, the Union des Industries de la Fertilisation (UNIFA), which represents the plant nutrition and soil health industry in France, quickly identified the need to proactively manage its packaging in the agricultural sector. This led to the creation by the plant nutrition industry of the Company for the Development of Eco-actions of Fertilisers and Amendments (SOVEEA- in French : Société de Valorisation des Eco-actions des Engrais et Amendments) and the implementation of concrete initiatives, in partnership with A.D.I.VALOR (French national scheme for agricultural waste management), to develop sustainable solutions for the collection and recycling of packaging after use by farmers.
