Guaranteeing the traceability of recycled materials through certification

The incorporation of Recycled Plastics Materials (RPM) in new agricultural plastics represents a major challenge to increase the circularity of the sector. To meet this objective, the industry has committed to a rate of at least 25%. Guaranteeing reliable traceability and proving this commitment is essential, a challenge to which LNE is responding with its new certification standards for manufacturers.

Certification is a process led by an independent third-party body, which aims to verify the conformity of a product, service or system to previously established criteria and requirements. Whether voluntary or regulatory, it applies to products, management systems or services, sometimes combined with laboratory testing. As a guarantee of quality, it represents a pledge of confidence for consumers, users and principals.

LNE “incorporation of recycled plastics” certification

LNE Environnement’s “Incorporation of Recycled Plastic Materials” (RPM) certification, developed in collaboration with IPC, the Industrial Technical Centre for Plastics and Composites (France), is a voluntary certification based on an annual on-site audit. It makes it possible to verify the quantities of RPM incorporated into the annual production of a plastics processing site, and/or to validate the declared volumes of RPM contained in a product or range of plastics products. In other words, it enables companies to prove their commitment to incorporating recycled plastics at their site or in their products. All sectors and fields using plastics are concerned, such as packaging, construction, electrical and electronic equipment, automotive, agriculture (etc….).
