5- or 7-layer coextrusion: impact on film performance and the environment. CPA Technical Days 2012
Until recently, 5 or 7-layer co-extrusion technology was mainly used for the production of flexible films for industrial use in food or medical packaging, which very often require gas barrier properties. Now, 5 or 7-layer co-extrusion technology is increasingly used for other flexible film applications, particularly in the agricultural film segment. 5 or 7-layer co-extrusion technology naturally optimizes the mechanical and agronomic performance of agricultural films. It also minimizes their environmental impact, a parameter that is becoming a key factor in the development of new agricultural films.
