Decarbonising plasticulture through recycling: the lCI’s stark conclusion

Plastics recycling is an essential response to two major challenges: the virtuous treatment of plastic waste and the reduction of the sector’s environmental impact. Life Cycle Inventories (LCIs) illustrate the complementary nature of recycling and decarbonisation. They also pave the way for better integration of recycled plastics into industrial and environmental strategies, by providing precise tools for measuring the benefits. Olivier Vilcot presents the methodology and results, or how to turn plastic waste into an asset for the ecological transition.

Recycling plastic waste is first and foremost a virtuous way to combat waste and environmental pollution, reducing the use of resources and limiting health risks. Mechanical recycling offers a sustainable alternative by transforming waste into reusable resources. The example of agricultural plastics and their recycling performance via the A.D.I.VALOR chain demonstrates the relevance of this approach, which preserves the soil, reduces emissions and contributes to a circular economy, applicable to all plastic waste1.

There are many variations of passages of Lorem Ipsum available, but the majority have suffered alteration in some form, by injected humour, or randomised words which don't look even slightly believable. If you are going to use a passage of Lorem Ipsum, you need to be sure there isn't anything embarrassing hidden in the middle of text. All the Lorem Ipsum generators on the Internet tend to repeat predefined chunks as necessary, making this the first true generator on the Internet. It uses a dictionary of over 200 Latin words, combined with a handful of model sentence structures, to generate Lorem Ipsum which looks reasonable. The generated Lorem Ipsum is therefore always free from repetition, injected humour, or non-characteristic words etc.
