CPA technical day: plasticulture and soil condition

The CPA organised its Technical Day on 20 March 2025 in Bordeaux, jointly with INRAE1. The aim of the day was to understand the share of responsibility of agricultural plastics in the pollution of microplastics in agricultural soils and to identify the origins of these microplastics. Let’s look back at this day of lively discussion.

To meet these objectives, eight scientific experts in the field were invited to workshops and round tables, with around sixty participants.

Robust experimental protocols!

To measure the quantity of microplastics (MPs) in the soil, a sampling protocol must first be established in order to obtain a representative soil sample for analysis. In France, INRAE has developed a Soil Quality Measurement Network with a precise protocol.

This protocol has been adapted for the measurement of MPs as part of the MICROSOF project:

25-unit samples are taken from a 20 × 20 m area within the surface layer (0-20 cm).
The samples are then homogenised to form a composite sample (1 kg of soil).

There are many variations of passages of Lorem Ipsum available, but the majority have suffered alteration in some form, by injected humour, or randomised words which don't look even slightly believable. If you are going to use a passage of Lorem Ipsum, you need to be sure there isn't anything embarrassing hidden in the middle of text. All the Lorem Ipsum generators on the Internet tend to repeat predefined chunks as necessary, making this the first true generator on the Internet. It uses a dictionary of over 200 Latin words, combined with a handful of model sentence structures, to generate Lorem Ipsum which looks reasonable. The generated Lorem Ipsum is therefore always free from repetition, injected humour, or non-characteristic words etc.
