Christophe Calvet : “Ensuring a supply of used plastics collected in the South-East and South-West”
AUTHOR : The Editor
Europlastic is no newcomer to the management of used agricultural plastics. Since the beginning of the century, the group has been expanding in this field, and its technical and practical expertise led its leaders to invest in an industrial recycling unit, Plasticlean. Its President, Christophe Calvet, explains the ins and outs of the project.
A Continuous Commitment to Serving Users, from Collection to Recycling
Plasticulture Magazine : The group you lead, based in Aimargues in the Gard region, has been active for decades in agricultural supply, particularly in the distribution of agricultural plastics, such as greenhouse covers and mulching films. More recently, it has embarked on creating a structure to recycle the agricultural plastics you market. Where does this ambition to engage in recycling operations come from ?
Christophe Calvet : First, I want to emphasize that this is a commitment we made long ago. Our group, through Europlastic, has been involved in collecting used plastics in the Southeast since 2005, even before the industry was organized nationally with the launch of the A.D.I.VALOR initiative in 2009. At that time, we had already considered entering the recycling business. This reflects a continuous commitment to serving users, from collection to its logical follow-up: recycling.
The cost of landfilling
Plasticulture Magazine : This long-standing ambition took shape in 2023 with the creation of PLASTICLEAN. What was the trigger ?
There are many variations of passages of Lorem Ipsum available, but the majority have suffered alteration in some form, by injected humour, or randomised words which don't look even slightly believable. If you are going to use a passage of Lorem Ipsum, you need to be sure there isn't anything embarrassing hidden in the middle of text. All the Lorem Ipsum generators on the Internet tend to repeat predefined chunks as necessary, making this the first true generator on the Internet. It uses a dictionary of over 200 Latin words, combined with a handful of model sentence structures, to generate Lorem Ipsum which looks reasonable. The generated Lorem Ipsum is therefore always free from repetition, injected humour, or non-characteristic words etc.
