A virtuous ecosystem for responsible plastics management

Agricultural practices are constantly improving. For Marie-Thérèse Bonneau, this is particularly true of the management of used agricultural plastics, where the profession has been able to organise and innovate to set an example. It’s a collective and ongoing effort. Plasticulture Magazine interviewed her, based on her wealth of experience.
Plasticulture Magazine : As a livestock farmer, what changes have you experienced in the use of plastic in agriculture since you started your career?
Marie-Thérèse Bonneau : As a livestock farmer, I use agricultural plastics, silage sheeting and silage wrap in particular. They are essential for running the farm properly, and provide real technical and agronomic added value.
In over thirty years in the business, I’ve seen both products and uses evolve. For silage, for example, at the start of my career, we were looking particularly at the density of the plastic film and the content or manufacture of the product was not important. It was even the other way around: a product containing recycled materials was frowned upon in terms of quality, so we avoided it. On the other hand, farming practices have also evolved, leading to changes in the use of products and the technical characteristics required. Farmers now cut their grass several times a season, so wrapping films are becoming more prac- tical, better meeting the need to preserve fodder.
There are many variations of passages of Lorem Ipsum available, but the majority have suffered alteration in some form, by injected humour, or randomised words which don't look even slightly believable. If you are going to use a passage of Lorem Ipsum, you need to be sure there isn't anything embarrassing hidden in the middle of text. All the Lorem Ipsum generators on the Internet tend to repeat predefined chunks as necessary, making this the first true generator on the Internet. It uses a dictionary of over 200 Latin words, combined with a handful of model sentence structures, to generate Lorem Ipsum which looks reasonable. The generated Lorem Ipsum is therefore always free from repetition, injected humour, or non-characteristic words etc.
